Plants of the Wilds
Book with acetone transfer prints colored with pastel, foundational lettering for text Japanese 4 hole stab binding, Clamshell box, Arches text wove and handmade paper. As you students of Reggie know, when you the year long class there’s a LOT of homework. Normal life gets squeezed tight to make room. Some things have to go. Like spring gardening. Who has time to pull weeds! So the “weeds” finally had a chance to bloom and flourish. They were prolific. They were beautiful! They were everywhere! I decided to record all the different plants for the book assignment and use the foundational alphabet of that month to name and describe the plants. This book will always remind me of the single-minded focus of homework assignments in Reggie’s Year Long Class and how new perspectives and discoveries can grow as a result.
