Like Eggs at Present
I was not real excited at first with this alphabet. It's too roundy for my uninformed taste. But seeing other examples made me dive into it with our new stick inks for practice. Then, I decided, I could get more familiar tone differences with walnut ink and wrote out my quote a couple of times for practice.
Roundy is exactly what this quote was calling for. I got out my old notes from Schin Loong and sketched out an appropriate chicken. Then I pulled out a photo in my "backgrounds" folder that looked woodsy. I used the blue tone of Arcana chicken eggs to tie things together in Photoshop and then added the cracked egg. There are sooo many possibilities.
The piece measures 11"x14". The quote was penned with a Mitchell 3 nib in walnut ink. The hen was penned in black with a copperplate nib, then inverted. The egg was an imported image from the web.
