This work is by Jennifer E. Padilla
GEOMETRY

This poem by Rita Dove celebrates the joy of proving a theorem, while
subtly referencing the deepest aspects of truth and provability in
mathematics. In this piece created by Jennifer E. Padilla for Reggie
Ezell’s 26 Seeds class, variations of Carolingian script developed by
Reggie are rendered using pigment and ink stick on embossed white
Frankfurt paper. Red text is written at 2mm x-height with a Mitchell 4
nib using Boku-Undo crimson stick ink. Yellow and brown ochre pigments
from Roussillon were provided by classmate Sharon Sowell. The artist
continues to search for the elusive acrylic goose, in hopes of
replacing the metal nibs used here with hand-cut acrylic nibs.
