Saint of Darkness

To give up oneself, even beyond the afterlife, so that others can be illuminated out of darkness is the ultimate sacrifice and saintly trait of Mother Teresa, the purest form of love. This work was inspired by her response in an interview while she was still alive. The design was done on a 9"x12" black Legion paper. The text was written in Finetech moon silver watercolor, using the Freely Written Capital font that I have learned in Reggie Ezell's 26 Seeds, a year to grow" workshop. The light was drawn with Derwent metallic colored pencils, and the figure was drawn using white Holbein colored pencil.
