My Quarantine Brain
Over a year ago, after about a month of isolation at the start of the pandemic, I read something about the difficulties people were having as a result of so much alone time. And I started blaming some of my natural forgetfulness and klutziness on my “quarantine brain.” Still enjoying the novelty of not having to go anywhere, not even the grocery store (I’ve fallen in love with my Shipt shopper), I decided to make a map of my quarantine brain, an odd thing to do, but that’s how a quarantine brain works! The color is all watercolor except for some bits of patent gold here and there. The words are all my own, written as I would write in my journal, with a Pigma Micron marker. And the compass rose and other circles are inspired by a Pamela Paulsrud workshop we enjoyed “in the old days” before the pandemic. Art is a means of expression, and this project allowed me to play with my paints, get lost in the creative process, and vent all at once. Thank you to Reggie for considering it worthy of The Pic!
