PICK OF THIS WEEK - Week # 17

This work is by Maggie Gillikin.
 For All Seasons: Part 1

This book was originally created for an exhibition entitled “And It Was Good,” and completed in the summer of 2016, using 140# watercolor paper, gouache and watercolor, nibs and graphite. 24 karat gold was used throughout. The words are written in Carolingian, a letterform created in the early ninth century in Europe. The images portrayed are derived from the my own garden and photographic collection, and from sketching the clock while at the Musée d’Orsay.
The river represented is the Mississippi at dawn.

It is my hope that images from a world that inspires me will speak to you also...showing what beautiful, bountiful vistas await our senses every day and season. It is indeed good.
