This work is 22" x 30" and was done with
gouache on Arches hot press paper and a B2 nib. The quote reminded
me of the attitude that my Ukrainian grandfather had about the
political turmoil in his country at the time he left for the promise
of freedom and opportunity in the United States. Thus the choice of
the broken Pysanky egg to represent the condition of the people in
the country from which he fled.
